Never give up

Hey hey hey lovelies,

So today I thought I'd take a trip back down memory lane... why? I'm not so sure but it happens and I often find myself thinking back on things that happened in the past.
We all do it sometimes, right? It could be thinking of all those great moments you missed and wished you had again or remembering those that you wish never happened.

But sometimes you can't seem to escape those thoughts you fight so hard to forget. Those that stick by you no matter what and at random come back to make you feel down. This brings me to the thoughts of all the times I failed at something. Whether it was baking a cake, reaching a certain goal or maybe getting a certain score on a test at school! You can name them all, I can certainly think of a few things I've failed at in my 19 years of existence.

Even though I am quite young - 19 years isn't much for learning from experience- but there have been many, many times in my life where I have thought to myself that I should just give up. It isn't worth it and I will never be able to reach my goal. Even when I tried, I often failed. I felt worthless, it was one of the worst feelings ever. Working so hard to only find out that you didn't reach your goal.

It happens to all of us. I can guarantee you that you will fail at something at least once this year. It can be tiny or it can be something huge that impacts your life in a whole. But it happens.

Failure is part of learning. It does not mean that you lose or that you should give up. In the contrary, it is a lesson that you teach yourself through your own actions. If something does not work the first time, you should try again with a different approach.

Everything I say are my words, what I think and what I learnt from my own experiences. Think to yourself, what if I fail now but in the future I eventually make it, will it matter the amount of times I failed before?

No, should be the answer to that because it doesn't matter how many times things don't work out. It doesn't matter how many times you have to pick yourself back up, just as long as you do get up and decide to never give up.
The most important things in life is to have a goal and go for it. No matter how many times life knocks you down, you got to get back up and keep your head held high.

Guys, if you ever feel down or feel as though you just want to give up, think of this, you can do anything you put your mind to. As long you don't give up, you can achieve many great things.

I found this really inspirational video on YouTube that has changed my perspective on everything.

If this post can help at least one of you, it will be one of my biggest achievements ever!
I hope you are all having a great Easter wherever you are!
Be kind to one another
and remember chickens, NEVER GIVE UP!

Lots of Love, Karine xx

  1. So glad you found your momentum and a great motto in life at such a young age. Some people don't get this until their fifties, or maybe never at all, so it is incredible you have learned such a valuable lesson so early on. I don't think the phrase "never give up" can be used in a negative way, ever. You are absolutely right that you should try and find a different approach if something is not working, and that the number of failures won't matter once you succeed. Thank you so much for the lovely comment on my blog by the way. It is such a tragedy and I am comforted by the fact that there are so many people out there thinking of all those on the ferry. 2. I agree with you and as I said in one of my posts "Failure is not the opposite of success, it is just part of it"

  3. Karine, you are the best! This is so true. Failures make us grow stronger. They're definitely lessons learned and you just keep moving forward. I've been there. Just get up, dust yourself off and keep on moving.

  6. When I was at school a teacher pulled me aside and told me I never be a journalist and it worthless ever trying to be one. Well that really hurt me but none the less I graduated 2 years ago from a Ba Fashion Journalism degree and i now do some freelance writing. So moral of the story is to not give up and don't listen to what one person say - if you want it go after it!
