Happy 1st Anniversary TropicalColours!

Hey lovelies!

As you may or may not know, my blog is a year old! YAY
I was going through my blog, just for a laugh and then I realized that on February 10th 2013, I had made my very first post!
I wasn't as consistent with my blog posts back then as I was in the middle of moving houses where I ended up without internet for 3 whole months! (...what? how did I do it? ...I really don't know)

As soon as I was settled into my new house, year 12 had taken over my life. I was stressed and like any other year 12 student, I was exhausted! I didn't have to energy or the motivation to keep on going on with my blog so I gave up for a while. At the end of 2013, I realized that I really missed blogging about random things that would pop into my head.

So I decided that I would start all over again. I re-designed my blog page, adding colours and pictures. I started a YouTube Channel and now I am loving it!

I now have over 40 posts and 100+ followers! That's amazing! Never did I ever think that I would even be able to create content on my blog every week let alone have people reading and commenting on them! I absolutely love it!

I want to take a minute to thank all of you, all of my followers because I am so so grateful for every single one of you! And an extra thank you for those who take the time out of their busy days to comment and give me feedback! I really appreciate it!

You have no idea how happy it makes me when I see the little notification button light up and I see that one of you have commented or that I got a new follower! It really makes my day!

So really thank you!

If you would like to talk to me or anything like that, please do so, I love getting messages, even if they're just a hello!

I love you guys, thanks for being so fabulous!

Lots of love, Karine xx

Summer beach outfit!

Hey lovelies!

As much as I would rather not think about it, the end of summer is fast approaching :(
So I thought i'd make the best out the few hot summer days left!

I decided to go beach and this was my outfit!

With any good outfits comes a crazy nail polish idea from me! So here's what I decided to do with my nails. Some call it getting nail polish everywhere, I call it attempted nail art!

What have you been up to lately?
Is it cold where you live?

Laziness has taken over

Hey lovelies!

So lately I've really been struggling to write on my blog. Mainly because whenever I start to write, I then get distracted and lose my train of thought and also because I have literally been hibernating for the past week in my bed cocoon (you don't even want to know)

And so I have been doing nothing with my time except sleep, work and eat pretty much.
I am not complaining because I love it yet when I think about it... my life is so boring!

I thought about it for a minute and decided that I would blame Melbourne weather for this. For those of you who know what Melbourne weather is like, you will know that it has mood swings. One minute is sunny and warm and the next, it's freezing! Even in summer... makes no sense to me!

So these past few days have been so cold. I know, I know some of my followers do live in parts of the world where it snows and such but I can guarantee that Melbourne's 20 degrees is colder than you think!

So I apologize for the lack of ideas on my blog this week! I promise to try and do better!

Also I wanted to welcome all new followers! I cannot tell you how happy I am when I see the little notification thing saying that I have a new follower!
Thank you so much for following and taking time out of your day to read and comment!
I really appreciate it!

Sport watch made in heaven

Hey lovelies,

So since I've had plenty of spare time lately I have pulled out my runners (or as my international friends may know them as trainers or sneakers) from the dusty side of my house and decided that instead of doing nothing, I would get up and exercise a bit. Maybe go for a walk, a run or do some yoga.

With that in mind, I thought that i'd also look up some accessories to go with my "fitness outfit" as I like to call it. There's always a reason to go shopping and as always I resulted to the internet for interesting and stylish accessories that I might not find while shopping in the city.

Even though I am situated in Australia, I often find myself shopping in stores in other countries, mainly because their products are so much more interesting and unique but they also have great deals! It's a win-win situation really!

I found myself looking for watches and started looking through the watches on The Watch Gallery website.
I was so impressed to see so many good-looking watches that were very very stylish! As I scrolled down, one watch stood out from the others. The Tag Heuer Aquaracer

This beautiful and reliable watch stood out for 4 specific reasons:
  • Its size
  • water resistant feature
  • very stylish exterior
  • great price of £1,450 ( roughly AU$2,680)
Now you may wonder, why would I look at the size of a watch before deciding whether it is the right one? Well, those who know me, know that i'm quite petite and have small wrists. That often makes it hard for me to find watches that fit and don't cover up my whole arm basically.

This watch also comes with a 2 year international warranty and deliver to any country!!

I have to mention however that this watch is from the men section of the store but I'm in love with it so if I had to pick ONE watch from that website, it would still be The Tag Heuer Aquaracer regardless!

Another thing that I loved about this website is that it offers you the option of bracelet re-sizing! HOW GREAT IS THAT! They re-size the bracelet for you COMPLETELY FREE! All they require is the measurement of your wrists and VOILA!

If you are looking for stylish yet comfortable watches, then LOOK NO FURTHER! The watch gallery has watches for everyone! I would highly recommend getting a watch whether it is for yourself or looking for a gift for a special someone ;)

You can check out The Gallery Watch website HERE
For further information you can check out the website or contact them!

You will not be disappointed!

Let me know what you think of this watch, in the comment section below! And let me know which one is your favourite watch?

Pay it forward

Hey lovelies!

So lately the idea of paying it forward has been on my mind. I first learned of the concept at school when we watched the movie "Pay It Forward" directed by Mimi Leder.

If you are unfamiliar with this concept of paying it forward, it consists of doing one good thing for one to three people in need without expecting or accepting anything in return. Instead, you kindly suggest that they do something for 3 other people in need. So that good deed may be passed on forward.

Now to my surprise I was delighted to see that there was a Pay It Forward day! Anyone from anywhere in the world can be part of this amazing day!

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Watch the trailer here:

There are pay it forward day cards that you can download for free and print off. On each card, there's 24 boxes on the back which can be ticked off as the card travels from one person to the other.

You can read more about Pay It forward day HERE

I sure hope that you will participate in this amazing day! I know I will!!
Just imagine the difference it will make in the world if everyone just did a few good things for someone else.

Valentine's day!

Hello lovelies!

Who doesn't love valentine's day? It's a day filled with love, chocolates, presents, kind gestures, smiles, butterflies and surprises.... for couples

But for those like me who know exactly what I will be doing on that day... eating a ton of sweets and blogging my life away, know that it really is a day like every other because we are forever alone.

JUST KIDDING
(no but seriously)

So what has inspired me to write this today was Grace Helbig. For those who don't know Grace Helbig, she's/was dailygrace on YouTube. And for those who don't know dailygrace on YouTube then... what are you doing?  Here's the link

You guys should go watch her videos because they are HI-LA-RI-OUSSSS *sassy snap*

So Grace has now moved channel and now uploads videos to her channel itsgrace and made a video about Valentine's day which I found so very clever and funny.

I thought I'd tell you about what I am going to do this VALENTINE'S DAY yay!!

  • So firstly I'm going to get flowers delivered to myself

  • Next I will make a list of all of my favourite movies so that I may watch them
  • I'll marry my two chickens - even though they are both females I don't care (SAME SEX MARRIAGE WOO)

  • Surround myself with maoams and tea and lots of chocolate stuff.
  • Get frustrated because I cannot beat my high score of 35 on flappy bird

So what are you up to this Valentine's Day?

Lots of love, Karine xx

Life after High school

Hey lovelies,

So I just finished high school and my life feels like it has just been flipped upside down.
Not just because now I am faced with more responsibility or the fact that everyone is on my back about my future but more so the little things that used to make life enjoyable.

I often look back on the past and I know sometimes it does hurt but I also think of the good times I shared with others.

The thing about high school is that for the past 6 years you have built up friendship with people. You grow up together and go through some of the toughest times like being a teenager or finding yourself. Feeling as though you have people who understand you and who may be going through the same thing by your side and that just always makes things a little easier.

Throughout the years those friendship will either strengthen or break. But what I've been told just about a thousand times by those who have been in my shoes is that friendships rarely ever last after high school. Those friends you are with at the moment, are not those who you grow old with.

I guess I used to think about it but didn't really take it as something that would happen to my friendship group. We were always so close and always go out together. But now looking at what I do in a typical week compared to what I used to do, my friends are no where to be seen. Everyone has gone their separate ways and I now understand what they meant.

In High School, you make promises which now seem like just words you said to each other to reassure one another for the future when really it doesn't mean a thing. I know that that's harsh but really I am being realistic. Maybe one day we might catch up again and reminisce on the good old days.

Don't get me wrong, you often do stay close or keep contact with one or two people and they would often be your best friends but that friendship group you thought was inseparable will easily be broken.

Has any of you gone through a similar friendship break up? Was finishing high school a big step for you? Let me know!

A little update

Hey Lovelies,

I know I haven't been posting as much lately so I thought I'd give you a little update on what I've been up to.

Now as much as I wish I could say that I have been flooded with so much work or busy doing super cool things like climbing a mountain or fighting a dragon, unfortunately my answer to the lack of posts is just that I've been too lazy to write.

I've actually been up to a lot, I went shopping, worked, made and edited videos but that does not excuse me of my laziness as I have spent so much time just watching YouTube videos and searching up random things on Google search instead of actually doing something productive with my life *sigh*

well what can you do...

But yesterday I painted my nails! I thought i'd be a bit creative and tried a little french manicure but with a little twist!

I would love to promise you that I will post everyday but I know I can't do that! But what I can promise you is that blogging is something I love to do and my blog will be active forever and ever and ever and ever....

What have you been up to lately? Did you fight off any dragons or climb a mountain?
If you have time, make sure to check out my new YouTube channel and Subscribe if you like it!

Summer banana and strawberry smoothies!

Hello lovelies!

We all look for a cool refreshing drink in summer and sometimes water just doesn't satisfy our taste buds as it's rather plain.

So I thought that a smoothie was a great summer drink!

As I searched my kitchen for flavours, I came across a couple of banana and a punnet of strawberries. At first I couldn't decided whether I wanted a banana or a strawberry smoothie and in the end I decided to put them both in! Oh wow Karine... you're a genius! Ohh thankyou :p

There are two types of banana and strawberry smoothie you could make, crushed ice or yoghurt. This depends on your taste.
Yoghurt Smoothie

To make the yoghurt smoothie you need:
  • strawberries
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of vanilla yoghurt
Crushed Ice Smoothie

To make the crushed Ice smoothie you need:
  • strawberries
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 cup of ice cubes
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tbs of sugar or honey
The amount of strawberries you add depends on your own taste but I would recommend half to a whole punnet.

And let me know if you would try or have tried this recipe before! And please feel free to share your recipes so I may try them!

Enjoy this delicious summer treat!

Strawberry picking!

Hello lovelies!

So today my family decided it'd be a great idea to go fruit picking. Usually I would not be too excited for it but this time was different.
I COULD DRIVE
and
THE WEATHER WAS AMAZING

So we drove around to the fruit farm in Bacchus Marsh where we picked some strawberries.

The strawberries we picked

And at the end of the day, before leaving to go home, we stopped by to visit the Kryal Castle which was huge!! It's such a beautiful place!

Today was such a lovely day! I think I ate my body weight in strawberries...
What did you get up to today? And what are you planning for this weekend?

Happy Chinese New Year

Hey Lovelies!

Firstly I wanted to say HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR or GONG XI FA CAI!!

I know that I am not Chinese nor are my past relatives BUT coming from a multicultural country (MAURITIUS) I am used to having different cultures celebrating their culture and traditions.

I have always loved learning about new cultures, traditions and nationalities because it's something that really fascinates me and I find really wonderful.

With that being said. I do not know everything to do with traditions and the Chinese new year celebration but just things that have been taught to me and things that I have observed.

For those of you who don't know, Chinese New Year is a very important traditional holiday celebrated at the turn of the Chinese Calender. The date however isn't necessarily the same every year but instead corresponds to the new moon.

The Chinese Calender is made up of twelve years, each named after an animal. Traditionally, the Chinese believe that those born in a certain year will attain the characteristics of that animal.

This year is the year of the Horse!

Find out what animal you are according to the year you were born!

And the characteristics of each animal are:

I hope you had a wonderful week guys! Let me know what you got up to! And if you do celebrate any traditions!

Lots of Love, Karine xx
